With the new year beginning, I am also venturing into new photography challenges! I have joined together this year with a smaller group to take on some more personal challenges. Things that I think will make my family and I happy for many years to come! The first of these projects is a project called “Me and Mine” – this is a way to document myself as a mom each month with my kids. Some months it might be my whole crew, but I am guessing more often than not, I won’t be able to get my husband in on the fun! Some times it might just be myself and one of my boys…. but the goal for me is to have photos of myself with the little people that I love the most. I am sure most of these will be far from perfect, as I will be using a timer or turning the camera over to someone else (something I have a hard time doing)! But I am laying aside my excuses of , “I will be in more pictures when I lose 10 pounds” or “my hair looks bad and I don’t have any makeup on”. When my kids are not these precious little ones anymore, I want them to remember the time we spent together, and often photos are one of the best ways of remembering. They aren’t going to care about the extra 10 (or more) pounds on my waist or that I am not made up and fixed up, and I am going to push myself to get out of my “comfort zone” behind the camera and be real and capture reality with myself and my family this year!

If you have made it this far, thank you for enduring my rambling! This month, our pictures are of us on Christmas eve! They are grainy, because the light wasn’t good, and my nephew is in several of the pictures as well, but I will claim him too!And Christmas even with my siblings and parents has always been a tradition and is one I want to document and remember! Plus, my husband actually sat still for a few pictures, so I decided to use these rather than taking the kids out and trying to get something else for this first month!
